The Purple Halo Gala, our 3rd Annual Gala fundraiser supporting the victims of domestic and sexual violence, took place on Thursday, October 24th, 2024, at the Historic Black Knight.
This fundraiser was a Havana Nights Themed, Gala style party, featuring food, drinks and entertainment.

The focus of AWAY, formerly the Women’s Resource Center is to protect victims of all backgrounds of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and human trafficking. AWAY is a private, West Virginia non-profit agency that provides temporary emergency shelter, counseling, crisis intervention, advocacy and other supportive services for victims, survivors, and witnesses of domestic violence and sexual violence. Services are provided free of charge, 24/7 at our shelter in Beckley, WV as well as in our outreach offices located in Raleigh (Beckley), Fayette (Fayetteville), Summers (Hinton), and Nicholas (Summersville) counties.
